The Soul Shakers – from Victoria

The Soul Shakers have been shaking souls with their particular brand of Rhythm & Blues on Vancouver Island for twelve years. With powerhouse singerJoyce “The Voyce” front and centre on lead vocals, and four skilled and seasoned players backing her up, the band packs a punch – and a dance floor.

Ten years after releasing their first CD, Live at The Yale, and four years after Love is Love, the band has released their third compilation Ready for You, an album of eight original songs which debuted to a sold-out house at Oak Bay’s Upper Lounge.

The Soul Shakers are festival favourites – they played at more than twenty outdoor festivals or venues in the 2019 summer alone. They have rocked crowds at Blues Bash, Jazzfest, Ribfest, YYJ Car-Free Day, Cadboro Bay Days, Selkirk Days, Colwood Beach, The Nanaimo Bluesfest, the Ogden Point Barge, Transfer Beach (Ladysmith), 39 Days of July (Duncan), the Saanich Fair, and The Dragonboat Festival among others, many of these on an annual basis.

If you want a band that makes people perk up their ears, pick up the beat, and pop onto the dance floor you have it in The Soul Shakers.  They are “Ready For You” – are you ready for them?
